Java is celebrated for its aromatic spices and complex flavors, often achieved through traditional slow-cooking methods. Bali’s cuisine captivates with its use of fresh, tropical ingredients and intricate preparation techniques like grilling over coconut husks. Sumatra is known for its bold and spicy dishes, often cooked in rich, coconut milk-based curries that simmer for hours to infuse deep flavors. Alongside its lush rainforests, volcanic mountains, and pristine beaches, Indonesia's traditional cooking methods add a profound authenticity to its rich culinary heritage. Our recipes
Our recipes are authentic Indonesian. My dad (bappa) and my grandmother (ibu) both taught me patiently how to cook authentic Indonesian because I was always in the kitchen asking questions non-stop. Since I was a little boy, growing up in The Netherlands, I knew right away that there would never be better food than the dishes from my dad and grand mother.
After traveling all over the world, I realize now that I was right 40 years ago.
Our Menu
Our menu is mainly from Java (bappa) and Sumatra (ibu) since these were the islands my dad and grandmother grew up.
Since Bali has so many flavorful recipes as well, we added a few Bali menu items as well.
